Privacy
What we collect, why, where it is kept, and how to have it changed or deleted.
Who is responsible
UAFest.com is run by the UAFest team of the Ukrainian Community of Lanark County (UCLC), an Ontario not-for-profit corporation (OCN 1000983432). Privacy questions and requests: info@uafest.ca.
When you apply to a festival through its site on UAFest.com, that festival's team decides what to do with your application. UAFest.com stores the application for the festival and shows it in the festival's team inbox.
What we collect
Only what you type into a form, plus what the server needs to work:
- Sign-in: your email address, used to send a sign-in link and keep you signed in.
- Launching or claiming a festival: festival name, city, country, venue, first date, the site address you choose, your role and your contact details.
- Applications to a festival: the fields that festival's form asks for, such as name, email, phone and details of the application.
- Mentoring requests: name, email, festival, place, date, topic, urgency, language and your question.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and the pages requested, kept in server logs for security and troubleshooting.
Cookies
UAFest.com uses cookies needed to keep you signed in and to remember the language and the festival preview you opened. The site runs no advertising cookies and no third-party analytics.
Why we use it
- To publish your festival's site and forms and deliver applications to its team.
- To send service emails: sign-in links and a notice to the festival team about each new application.
- To answer mentoring requests and questions sent to info@uafest.ca.
- To protect the service from spam and abuse.
We do not sell personal information and do not use it for advertising.
Where it is stored
The website runs on servers rented from Contabo Inc. in the United States. The database with accounts, festivals and applications runs on a server rented from Contabo GmbH in the European Union. Service emails go out through our email provider. Your information may therefore be stored and processed outside Canada.
How long we keep it
Account and festival data stay while the festival account is active. Applications stay until the festival team deletes them or asks us to. Server logs are kept for a limited time for security. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it: write to info@uafest.ca from the address you used. For an application, you can also contact the festival you applied to. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
